Had my Audi booked in for a service and unfortunately on the day was unexpectedly delayed. The guys at the garage were understanding and although caused them issues, still managed to rearrange their day to fit me in at a later time. Great service and would definitely recommend.
Wheel Alignment Macclesfield
Simply put: wheel alignment is key to reducing tyre wear, improving fuel consumption and ensuring safer driving. That’s the reason tyre manufacturers across the world recommend having your wheels aligned at least once a year. It’s especially important if you’re struggling with potholes, kerbs and speed bumps on a regular basis.
If your wheel alignment isn’t on point, you could be putting your family’s life at risk every time you drive. Yes – it’s that serious.
At Links Automotive, our specialist technicians only use the latest equipment to correct the geometry of your steering and suspension. So, you’re guaranteed a smooth ride.
You won’t have to wait to get your alignment fixed either. We pride ourselves on short waiting lists and superior, jargon-free service. It’s why we’re Macclesfield’s favourite Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda independent garage.
How do I know if my wheel alignment is wrong?
If you’re worried your wheel alignment is off, there are some pretty noticeable signs. And, while you’ll naturally get a hunch because of the way your car is driving, these four points are key areas to keep an eye on:
- Vehicle pulling to the left or right
- Uneven or rapid tyre wear
- Your steering wheel is crooked when driving straight
- Squealing tyres
Toe
Toe angle is the most commonly needed alignment adjustment. It’s the position of the tires going straight ahead.
Too much toe variation causes dangerous instability while driving, and really increases your tyre wear as the vehicle battles against the angles of your wheels.
Camber
Camber is the tilt of the top of the tyre according to how it sits on the road.
Most vehicles camber is set to neutral, or slightly negative camber, to help with tyre wear. But, there are some vehicles that have a more negative camber to help with moving at faster speeds. This can have a huge impact on the way your car functions.
Caster
Caster is the front suspension angle when referring to its vertical positioning. And, it’s only set on your front suspension. Although you can’t see it with the naked eye, it’s very important that it’s correctly aligned.
It helps the wheels readjust after turning the steering wheel.
